Black History - interactive

The Newton County Library wants to provide a look into black history next month.
The library has ongoing exhibits set up and several special events planned to celebrate Black History Month in February.
Beginning Monday until the end of February, the public is invited to view a Black History Time Line featuring images, sounds and texts in the meeting room at the library.
“We are excited about what we’ve put together for the time line, it covers 1619 through the present,” said Stevin Herald at the library’s information desk.
The library also is decorated with paintings, sculptures and other art pieces from local black artists Marianne Garrett, Garfield Johnson, Marjae Kimble and Margaret Warfield.
Interactive screens and videos also are displayed throughout the library [read more at rockdalecitizen.com]
